Terms of use
On PlaceDatum we publish what we read on a business's own website and in the datasets below. Every fact shows its source and the date we read it.
Reading
Software reads the same pages your browser reads, at the same addresses. See the developers page.
One rate limit applies to everyone: 300 requests in 60 seconds. Over that we refuse the request, and send back a header telling you when to try again.
Reuse
The published data is open to reuse. You may crawl, cache, store, serve and derive new data from it, commercial work included.
It is offered under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence, CC BY 4.0.
Three conditions:
- Data you take from us names PlaceDatum as its source and links to the record it came from, as CC BY 4.0 asks.
- Data from a source below must carry that source's attribution line, exactly as the table prints it.
- Your requests stay within the rate limit above.

We don't publish the longer history behind a listing, and these terms don't cover it.
Sources and attributions
One row for each dataset our listings draw on. A dataset we read at more than one release gets one row, and we keep that row here while any listing uses its data.

The row of kind crawl is the business's own website. An empty cell means the dataset states none. We print a business's own words as it published them.

What a listing is
A listing is what we read on a business's own website. The business didn't write it, approve it or maintain it. We complete no booking, enquiry or payment, we hold no account, and we pass no message between a reader and a business.
We publish no rating, score or ranking. No payment changes a listing, whether it appears, or where it sits in any order, and nothing we sell now or later will.
A listing can be out of date or wrong. We don't promise it's accurate, complete or current, so check with the business before you rely on it. We aren't responsible for loss that comes from relying on a listing.
Links on a listing lead to sites we don't run. We don't control them and aren't responsible for what they hold or for anything you do there. You visit them at your own risk.
